STALLINGA REVEILS LATEST INSTALLATION AT MUZIEKGEBOUW AAN 'T IJ, AMSTERDAM (MUSIC THEATRE AMSTERDAM)

Studio Stallinga realized and revealed the installation ‘Waiting in the Hallway’ in Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Amsterdam (Music Theatre in Amsterdam).
The installation consists of sixteen Wall Seats, which vary in size and spacing intervals.
Each Wall Seat is formed out of one piece. Leaning against the wall, the stainless steel seats find stability.
Its curve, heavily weighted steel and slender silhouette creates a visually gripping and seemingly dangerous seat-sculpture.
However, the accurately calculated balance ensures that one can sit. And wait..
‘Waiting in The Hallway’, designed by Henk Stallinga, is part of an international exhibition which will be on display in Japan, 2015.

Studio Stallinga heeft zojuist de installatie ‘Waiting in The Hallway’ gerealiseerd en feestelijk onthuld in het Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam.
De installatie bestaat uit zestien Wall Seats die variëren in maatvoering en onderlinge afstand.
Iedere Wall Seat is gevormd uit één stuk. Leunend tegen de muur vinden de roestvast stalen zetels stabiliteit.
Door de curve, het zware staal en het ranke silhouet wordt een visueel spannend en ogenschijnlijk gevaarlijk zitsculptuur gecreëerd.
Het nauwkeurig berekende evenwicht maakt echter dat men daadwerkelijk op de zetels kan zitten. En wachten..
‘Waiting in The Hallway’, ontworpen door Henk Stallinga, is onderdeel van een internationale tentoonstelling welke in 2015 in Japan te zien zal zijn. http://www.stallinga.nl
